If a server room air conditioning system fails, Cross Hire knows how urgent it is to respond. Our team will respond quickly to stabilise the temperature and keep downtime to a minimum. In exceptional conditions, existing systems can struggle to maintain the best temperature. In these cases, we will provide extra cooling to work with those systems and help lessen the strain on the over-worked system.
Server Room Cooling & Portable Air Conditioning
Are you struggling to keep your server room at the correct operating temperature? Do you need a reliable back up option? Call Cross Hire and we will arrange to send an expert engineer to assess your site. We can offer advice and an expert view on the most suitable portable cooling solution for you.
Our in-depth knowledge of cooling data centres and server rooms means that we can deal with any emergency situation with speed and confidence. We can offer the best solution for the job – from portable air conditioners to complete chiller systems. Cross Hire has the expertise and product range – and it is available to you 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
Computer equipment can generate heat and that means it must be located in a temperature-controlled setting. Overheating can lead to equipment damage or data loss, as well as fire in extreme cases. It’s vital, therefore, to make sure you keep the temperature down. If your system isn’t up to that job, it may be worth thinking about temporary hire – not least during the summer months.
A portable solution is ideal for dealing with server room hot spots. You can easily locate these units where they are needed. And, with our advance planning service, Cross Hire will put in place contingency in the event of a breakdown. This planning will help to cut the downtime to a minimum in the event of a system failure. We will also work with you to build the most effective support plan if the worst does happen.
Server Room Cooling Range
Explore our range of server room cooling options below – exhaust tube air conditioners, portable spot coolers, water-cooled split air conditioners and chiller units.
Our portable chiller hire services are the best option for critical cooling needs. It offers exceptional temperature control for server rooms and data centres – either large, small or both.
Such chillers are available to rent and our single units range from 5kW to 580kW, as well as having the ability to be combined for megawatt systems.
The chiller system is the most suitable option for larger data centres that need a temporary or permanent solution. But they also work well in an emergency hire situation too. They are very portable and you can install them quickly and easily to minimise any disruption to your server room operation.
Air Conditioning Hire
For data centres, temporary portable split air conditioners are the best option. That’s because they completely recycle the air, which therefore avoids the negative air pressure that can be created by an exhaust tube unit.
This type of unit manages the heat removal by splitting the air conditioner into two units – an external heat exchange unit and an internal refrigeration circuit. These connect via flexible water pipe up to a distance of 30m.
No internal condensation buckets ensures these units are superb for round-the-clock cooling, running continually without the need to be emptied.
Exhaust Tube Air Conditioning
An exhaust tube air conditioner is the most versatile type of cooling unit. It works well in areas where you can extract the hot air and blow it outside or into an unused area. These units range from 4.1kW to 10.25kW.
After a simple install, the air conditions take in ambient air and move it across a cooling element and then blow cool air into the room. Meanwhile, it removes the heat via tube out of a conveniently-located window, a ceiling void or a space that isn’t in use etc.
Easy to move and small in size, these units are a quick and practical solution.
Exhaust Tube Air Conditioning
Our portable spot coolers are exhaust tube type air conditioning units that can duct cold air from the front of the unit and into specific areas. This makes them particularly good for use in server room hot spots i.e. server racks.
The hot air will need extraction via the flexible tube, but the flexible ducting hose means you can focus the cool air on those specific areas you need cooling the most.
A portable spot cooler is ideal for centralised cooling in larger rooms, while providing a more cost-effective solution than cooling the entire space as a whole.
